03 Oct 2021**NO SCORE-BOOKS FOR 2021/22**

Referring to the previous post, at the same time as deciding that there would be NO Annual General MEETING in 2021 (for season 2019/20), the Management Committee also decided that there would be NO SCORE-BOOKS either for the 2021/22 season.
(Over the past few years, the score-books have been handed out at the AGM).

As an alternative, a 'scorecard' will be posted on the website before the start of the season scheduled for the 20th October, in the 'Documents' section under the 'About Us' tab.
This 'scorecard' is identical to the ones in the score-book.

Most devices including mobiles should allow you to download the scorecard which is in Word / Excel format, but you would then need to direct it to a printer under your control, if you wanted to create your own score-book.
(I will also circulate a copy of the scorecard to all captains sometime this week).

Apologies for any minor inconvenience this may cause.

The situation with regards the continued use of the score-book in the future, will be monitored and then reviewed following this season.

Bob Patterson.
LBSO - General Secretary / Treasurer.

03 Oct 2021**NO AGM IN 2021 (for 2019/20)**

The Management Committee took the decision back in June of this year, that it was NOT possible to arrange an AGM for the 2019-20 season, since it was still incomplete at that time.
As of today, the situation with regards the 2019/20 season remains the same, and will remain incomplete up to the start of the 2021/22 season nearly, scheduled to start on 20th October.
THERE IS SIMPLY NO TIME TO ARRANGE A MEETING IN BETWEEN NOW & 20th OCTOBER - EVEN IF THE 2019/20 SEASON WAS COMPLETE!

All that said, it is still very important to keep records of the usual AGM agenda items in the normal way, and also make sure those records identify the customary link between one season and the next, but even more so now with the total cancellation of the 2020/21 season.
BUT TO ACHIEVE THIS, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO HOLD AN ACTUAL MEETING - for the following reasons concerning the usual AGM agenda items-

1. The last AGM was held on the 2nd September 2019 - to conclude the 2018/19 season and introduce 2019/20 - the minutes of that meeting can still be found on the website (go to 'About Us / Documents'),
2. As already indicated, the 2019/20 season is still incomplete and will remain so for the next week or so,
3. Any matters arising since the last AGM in September 2019 and the eventual completion of the 2019/20 season, can still be dealt with at the next AGM (if necessary),
4. ALL LBSO officials have remained the same throughout ALL of the relevant period,
5. The LBSO finances can easily bridge the gap created by the cancellation of the 2020/21 season, so that the next balance sheet produced for the next AGM, will compare the figures covering three seasons rather than two,
6. With regards to rule alterations, those approved at the last AGM in September 2019 for season 2019/20, were included in the LBSO combined league and competition rules document and posted on the website soon after the AGM.
The following 2020/21 league & competition season was cancelled, so technically as a result, there are no rule changes necessary for the 2021/22 season due to start soon.
Therefore, league and competition rules for 2021/22 will remain the same as agreed in September 2019, and will be posted on the website before the start of the season on the 20th October, and any matters arising out of the rule changes for 2019/20 can still be dealt with at the next AGM (if necessary), along with any proposed changes for the following season (2022/23) in the normal manner.
ALL IN ALL THEREFORE, ALL USUAL AGM AGENDA ITEMS CAN BE PICKED UP AGAIN AT THE NEXT AGM IN 2022, & IMPORTANTLY WITH THE DISPENSING OF THIS YEAR'S MEETING HAVING NO EFFECT MOVING FORWARD!

**Please refer to the next posting with regards to SCOREBOOKS!

03 Oct 2021**REMINDER - WEDS 13th OCTOBER - MAIN PRESENTATION NIGHT**

The main presentation will take place at the Bramley Band Club on Wednesday 13th October - a week before the start of the 2021/22 season.
With no captain's meetings possible due to obvious reasons, a vote did NOT take place for the venue this year as it normally would.
Therefore, the committee chose the venue on this occasion, more as a 'safe bet' really, with the Bramley Band Club holding the event more than once in recent times. We will revert back to the voting process for next year, providing circumstances allow of course.
Doors will open around 7pm as normal on the night of the presentation.

If you are all like us, we are very eager to get back to normal and to start the new season again, so to see a full turn out the week before at the presentation for 2019/20 would be tremendous.
One difference this year, will be cash prizes only (apart from the league trophies which were ordered last year). The main reason for this is there are still some competitions to be completed, so there is no other option this year. That said, there are some very substantial cash prizes on offer, so please make sure you attend to collect them.
A full list of all prize winners will be displayed / circulated during the course of this week.

The committee would like to officially thank the Bramley Band Club again for staging our presentation night, and we all look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the night- especially ALL prize winners.

30 Sep 2021**Denison Hall seal Windsor Trophy win in style**

Denison Hall overcame a strong Belle Isle team to win the Windsor Trophy 5-1 last night. Brian Hussey and Dave Lockwood set the mood, playing some excellent snooker in their first matches against Gary Barton and Steve Hirst respectively. Brian comfortably beating Gary 2-0 with a potting masterclass at times! On the other table Steve missed a crucial black off the spot in the first to win the frame but then eventually going in off to hand the frame to Dave. Second frame again was edgy, but Dave eased to a second frame win.

So, with a 4-0 lead Denison Hall lead, Belle Isle duo of Cassidy and Binns were right up against it. Binns giving a 45 start to Tony Barker was never really in the frame. Tony potted the balls when he needed to and with some tactical play shut the door on any opportunities to allow Binns back in…

On the other table Cassidy was giving a 56 start to Gary Stead, although Gary potted some good balls early doors, it was Cassidy who found his rhythm compiling a 31 break before a bad kiss ended that break. To and fro from each player followed, but it was Cassidy in again and on a 51 break with 4 colours remaining it looked inevitable that Glen would clear the table and reduce the deficit. But with a missed brown, the frame was still in the balance. Eventually though, Glen did seal the frame on the pink to reduce the score to 4-1

Back on the other table and still it was Tony piling the pressure onto Binns, forcing Binns to try his arm at some shots to try get back into the frame. It wasn’t to be, and Tony comfortably took the frame to seal the win for Denison Hall.

It was a great atmosphere with both teams bringing huge support. Thanks to Paul and Jack at Farlsey for providing superb hospitality, venue and playing facilities.

Thanks also to both referees for officiating who I thought did an amazing job throughout….

28 Sep 2021**Richard Binns wins Len Lee Invitation**

Richard Binns defeated Danny Dean 4-1 to win the Len Lee Invitation title in tonight's final.
A 35 break helped Binns win the first frame 72-6 and he followed that with a 65-34 win in frame 2. Dean pulled one back with a 42 break and had chances in the next before losing 62-34 to go 3-1 down. A 39 break in the 5th frame gave Binns the match 4-1.
