This best of 7 final was played amongst 6 high quality players from both Horsforth and Gildersome Cons respectively.
First up was Raper matched against Pamment, it was Raper who settled the better and took the first frame very comfortably..
Next up was Bilclough against Bryne, once again it was one way traffic to Horsforth and raced to a
2-0 lead…
Last pairing for the first round of matches was Ball against Gaughan, first chance fell to Gaughan, but a simple missed blue allowed Ball to pounce with a nicely crafted 62 break to put the frame out of the reach of Gaughan and storm to 3-0 lead..
As the second frames commenced it was Raper v Pamment once again, this was a cagier affair with chances going astray for both players, but it was Pamment who sealed the frame on the pink to reduce the deficit to 3-1.
Bryne then tried to reduce the deficit even further when he took on Bilclough for the second time of asking, again much closer than first time around. Bryne produced a superb 27 clearance on the colours to force a re-spot. A loose shot by Bilclough allowed Bryne to calmly pot the black and it was game on again!
Ball had other ideas against Gaughan, and again a closer affair at the start, but Ball found his feet and a couple of mini breaks and then clearing the colours to the black to win comfortably and seal a 4-2 win and ensured the trophy headed back to Horsforth once again.
Many thanks to NSC for the excellent playing facilities and to our stand in referee Mick Jensen who officiated on the night…

Prostate Cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK, killing one man every 45 minutes in the UK. That's the same time it takes to play three holes of golf. That's why I'm golfing the distance and taking on The Big Golf Race, 4 rounds in 1 day,
to keep men in the game for longer.
The money raised by this challenge will help fund research into life-saving treatments for prostate cancer and provide practical support to men and their families.
So please dig deep to help me....

Main Line Social Club emerged victorious against Pudsey Liberal in last nights Stan Brooke Team final in what turned into a tight nervy affair.
Up first for Main Line was Peter Priestley (31) against Pudsey captain Charlie Noon (41). Priestley settled first and soon wiped out the handicap deficit and coming into the final three colours the scores were level. Noon then conceded two 5 point penalties and when Priestley eventually potted all three colours it gave the frame to Main Line by a flattering 28 point margin.
The next two frames went to Pudsey, James Drury (35) beating Gareth Priestley (8) by 15 points and Rob Stone (25) edging out Martin McGuigan (4) by 9 points. Both frames could have gone either way with none of the players willing to take any undue risks.
So after the first three games it was Main Line who took a slender 4 point lead into the final match up.
Main Line had the experienced Lee Atkinson (-22) up against Sam Oxley (18) of Pudsey Libs.
Atkinson was first in with a run of 22 to put the pressure onto his opponent. It was then nip and tuck and with just the last 5 colours remaining Oxley led by 9 points (5 on aggregate). Atkinson then seized his chance and calmly stepped up to take Green, Brown, Blue and Pink to seal the frame and match for Main Line, the final aggregate score being 291-278.
Many Thanks to Farsley Constitutional Club for hosting the final and to Bob Patterson for officiating.
