06 Jul 2022** Gildersome Cons win Champion of Champions final**

Gildersome Cons defeated Northern Snooker Centre 5-3 in last nights C of C final.

NSC actually took a 2-0 lead, Gordon Lam (3) beating Paul Bedford (41) and Adam Tollerfield (4) defeating Stuart Gill (43).
The Gildersome duo fought back however and at the break it was level at 2-2.
The match then went to 3-3, NSC'S Dave Boyes (-3) beat Chris Zavros (9), but on the other table son Daniel (1) lost to Gildersome's Ben Keedy (40).
So going into the final 2 frames the match was there for the taking, and it was the Gildersome players who stepped up, taking both games to seal a 5-3 victory.

Many thanks to Belle Isle for hosting the event and to Ken Symons and Natalia Gradinari for officiating.

05 Jul 2022**Main Line ease to 3 Man KO Victory**

Main Line Social overcame a resilient Upper & Lower Wortley team to lift the 3 Man KO 4-1 last night.

A pretty tight affair through out with both No3's an No2 players sharing the first two frames, both frames on pinks respectively.

Lee Atkinson of Main Line then increased to lead to 2-1 and with Danny Newton also winning meant a 3-1 lead going into the final two frames.

It was looking like Gary Popple of Upper & Lower Wortley was going to reduce the deficit, but on the other table Atkinson was in fine form, producing a couple of mini 16 breaks and then a 42 break meant the frame and match was over regardless of the other tables result which was then abandoned.

Thanks to Farsley for hosting and providing excellent playing facilities.

Thanks also to guest referees Mark King and Mark Ball for officiating at the highest level.

08 Jun 2022**Waite / Mann claim the Len Lee Pairs Title**

The Harehills Labour pairing of Daniel Waite and Kamran Mann became Len Lee Pairs champions after an anti-climax finish against the father and son pairing from NSC.

Conceding a 43 start per frame handicap it was always going to be a tough encounter for the Boyes paring…

First frame went to form with Dave (Boyes) producing a quick fire 18 break, before Boyes Jnr then produced a classy 35 break to eventually ease into a 1-0 lead.

Second frame didn’t quite go to form this time around, despite a couple of 19 breaks apiece from the Boyes pairing it was a run of mini breaks from Daniel (Waite) and then Kamran to level the match 1-1.

Third frame was a scrappy one, neither paring really putting a series of pots together in succession, eventually going down to the colours. With Waite / Mann 19 up with 25 on it looked to be heading down to the black, but a fantastic pot on the green and then brown from Waite edged the frame and into a 2-1 lead.

Fourth frame was a pivotal frame and probably the most exciting for the spectators, with the match and title heading in the direction of the Harehills pairing as they led by 51pts with a possible 51pts left. Chance after chance went begging, especially for Mann. Onto the colours we went and Boyes / Boyes requiring a snooker on the last red, added with a series of fouls meant they were now only 20 behind with 27 remaining… An attempted yellow by young Boyes resulted in the ball running around the angles and agonisingly for the Harehills pair dropping into the corner pocket, with the balls at his mercy only a poor positional shot on the pink ensured the frame stayed alive. Dave Boyes eventually potting a full-length pink to take the frame to a black ball game, and after a missed chance by Mann leaving to black in the jaws of the pocket which allowed young Boyes an easy black to force the decider – Game on!

So, the decider was full-on one-way traffic to start for the Boyes pairing scoring 45pts without reply and looked to have turned the match completely around – bit after a few safety exchanges it all come down to the colours, only 1pt in favour of the Boyes paring with 1 red remaining. Waite had other ideas and with a great opening red, then brown and with Waite also potting yellow, green and brown he was left with the blue to leave Boyes needing snookers, with the blue missing by a country mile, again agonisingly running around the angles and to the disbelief of both Dave and Daniel Boyes it dropped into the yellow pocket, Waite then potted the pink for a very rewarding 25 break and the Len Lee Pairs title..

Thanks to all the support, to NSC for providing excellent playing facilities and to Ken Symmons for officiating on the night..

08 Jun 2022**Congratulations to NSC's Sanderson Lam**

Who regained his place on the Pro tour with a 2 year ticket at the recent Q School in Sheffield.

Also good luck to our own Mark Ball who is representing England at next weeks European Snooker Championships in Albania, and to NSC's Liam Pullen and Vladislav Gradinari who are also in action in the European Junior Championships.

07 Jun 2022**Belle Isle duo ease to the Leeds City Championship Pairs title**

Richard Binns and Glen Cassidy produced a dazzling display against Liam Thewlis and Baz Frankland (Horsforth) to win the coveted Leeds City Pairs Trophy.

It was one way traffic from the start, a poor break from Thewlis allowed Binns to open with a 34 break, which could have been more had the black not rattled, Baz in return compiled a 29 break before a loose shot on the red broke the break down. But it was then Binns in again and then a clearance on the colours down to the black from Cassidy to win the first frame.

Second frame started the same with Binns in first with a 52 break, neither Baz or Liam could reply and the second frame going to the same way as the first.

Third frame was a bit closer initially with both Binns and Frankland sharing a couple of mini breaks. Leading into the colours Thewlis / Frankland needing one snooker, which they got and a chance for Thewlis who had only had a handful of shots in total before this chance had the opportunity to clear the colours to win the frame on the black, with it looking likely. However, a poor shot on the blue allowed Cassidy a simple pot to claim a very impressive 3-0 victory.

Thanks to NSC for providing excellent playing facilities and to Michael Davenport for officiating on the night.
