14 Apr 2020**NEW SEASON REGISTRATION DETAILS**From the management committee of the LBSO we hope you and your families are all safe and well in these troubled times. As hard as it is we must follow the government guidelines on social distancing and wherever possible avoid contact with our friends and families.
Our clubs and snooker centres remain closed for the foreseeable future this is subject to when the country is able to begin to return to normal.
We still have all our competitions to complete Paul Marlow and Mark Ball will keep you all informed as to when we can resume.
Although there is no certainty as to when the new season will begin we must make plans for the start of the new season which is due to start subject to confirmation on W/C Wednesday/ Thursday 2nd/3rd September 2020.
Later this week all captains/IT delegates will be notified by Bob Patterson regards registering your clubs/teams for the new season.
Anyone wanting to register a new club/team will need to contact the LBSO and submit their interest in registering.
Regards Paul Grimes,
LBSO league secretary.
It is with great sadness, that we have to announce the death of Steve Raine, who passed away yesterday evening.
Steve played for many years at North West Ward Liberal Club on Woodhouse Street before it closed, and most recently at Queenswood Social, where he was the captain of the team for a number of years, including this season.
Out of respect, Steve's funeral service will take place at Wakefield Crematorium on Friday 24th April.
Sincere condolences are sent at this difficult time, to Steve's wife Julie (who many of you will have seen with him over the years), his family, friends and his team colleagues.
All team captains were sent an email last night, with an update on various present and future issues. Please check your inboxes.
REGISTRATIONS - 2020/21 SEASON - registration more than likely by email sent to all captains later this month, to be returned by the end of May, with season to start in September as usual at present (SUBJECT TO CHANGE?).
COMPETITIONS - refer to previous instructions posted on the 16th March below.
PRESENTATIONS NIGHTS - two (at least) again intended this season. On hold until clubs are in a position to stage them. Further details to follow later.
RETURN OF LEAGUE TROPHIES & AGM - further details to be circulated in due course.
At this time we are all unsure of what the future holds and when we can hope to see the first signs of normality returning to our daily lives.
Once we are given the all clear to resume our normal lives we will be able to look to a start date for the 2020/21 season.
In the near future all captains will receive an email from Bob Patterson General secretary/treasurer about how we will submit the registration forms for your teams.
I hope you and your families all stay safe and well.
Paul Grimes,
LBSO league secretary.
