We are now in a position to make final preparations for the delayed 20/21 season.
This is of course dependant on the COVID 19 restrictions continuing as they are and not worsen, at all times we will be guided by the current guidelines and we expect clubs to have measures in place to keep everyone safe.
We accept that not all clubs will be in a position to allow visitors to enter their premises but we must resume for the majority, we have one of the largest leagues in the country and we need to continue to promote and encourage snooker in the Leeds and district area.
With this in mind we are giving all clubs a further month to see if restrictions can be lifted to allow all clubs to return to competitive snooker.
I need to be informed if your club cannot allow our league fixtures to be played in your respective clubs.
We have had a good response so far on which clubs are in a position to resume I need to be informed if your club cannot begin the new season.
The start date will be Wednesday/Thursday 18th/19th November.
This is 11 weeks after we would normally have started our season, we cannot delay any longer in order for the league and competitions for the 20/21 season to be completed and give us chance to prepare for the 21/22 season to begin September 2021.
I will begin to structure the leagues on Sunday 18th October, if your club is not in a position to compete we will give you priority to register for the 21/22 season subject to there being places available.
Please email to let me know what your clubs circumstances are.
The committee have come to a final decision on when the season starts, once again adhering to the guidelines, there will be no appeals against the date.
I hope you all stay safe and well.
Paul Grimes, LBSO league secretary.
