18 May 2023**Steve Parlour is Champion Veteran**

A bumper field of 34 veterans with nothing better to do on a Thursday morning lined up for this years competition and it was Harehills Labour's Steve Parlour who came out victorious beating Paul Grimes of Morley WMC on the final Black.
In the Plate final Chapel Allerton's Darren Earley defeated Karl Briggs of Crossgates Rec.
High break on the day was Ian O'Briens 69.

Many thanks to all who entered and to the NSC and their staff for use of the facilities and the refreshments provided.

16 May 2023**Farsley's Ball and Raper are Leeds Pairs Champions**

Mark Ball and Scott Raper defeated Rowland Road's Michael Gaughan and Daniel Hughes 3-0 in a one sided final at the NSC.
After a short bout of safety in the first frame Ball was in first and a break of 59 helped the Farsley Cons duo to a 84-25 victory. In the second it was Raper who contributed a run of 45 to make it 2-0 56-12. In the third it was Raper again, this time with his own 59 break to seal the frame and match against an out of sorts Gaughan and Hughes.

15 May 2023**Garforth WMC are Stan Brooke Team Winners**

Garforth WMC defeated Rowland Road WMC 273-238 in a tight Stan Brooke Team final at the NSC.

Rowland Road started with a win, Leon Brown (45) getting the better of Chris Bartle (47) 105-81 to give his team a 24 point advantage.
In the second frame Garforth's Simon Shepherd (37) clawed 5 points back beating Dave Millward (21) 74-69.
Garforth claimed a second frame win when David Horry (30) beat John Mullen (10) 56-46, so going into the final frame Rowland Road held a slender 9 point advantage.
It was left to Garforth's Danny Dean (-20) to battle it out with Rowland Road's Tom Oates (-4) to decide where the trophy was heading.
After a scrappy start Dean finally settled and when he posted a break of 24 in the middle of the frame it put his side 19 in front on aggregate with just 3 reds remaining.
A few shots later a 26 break meant that when Dean potted the final red followed by a Black ,the lead had tretched to 40 points with just the colours remaining and it was game over.

15 May 2023**FURTHER REMINDER - MEETING NEXT MONDAY - 22nd MAY @ SOUTH LEEDS CONS**

Just a further reminder of the meeting NEXT MONDAY - 22nd May - to be held at South Leeds Conservative Club.
The meeting is primarily to register teams for the 2023/24 season - & THIS WILL BE THE ONLY OPPORTUNITY THIS YEAR!

ANNUAL TROPHIES are also due to be returned at this meeting, and a separate email has just been circulated to the captains of all relevant teams concerned.

13 May 2023**Gradinari and Pullen win Junior titles**

In this years U16 final Vladislav Gradinari defeated Oliver Hudson 2(37)-0. Gradinari was in action again in the U18 final but came up against a rampant Liam Pullen who won comfortably 3-0 aided by breaks of 37,38,37,45 and 34.

08 May 2023**Boyes/Tollerfield take Stan Brooke Pairs Title**

NSC's Daniel Boyes and Adam Tollerfield defeated Tommy and Jimmy Doherty of Denison Hall 204-175 in tonight's Stan Brooke Pairs Final.

The Doherty's were receiving 16 points start per frame and a 43 break in the first frame by Tommy Doherty helped the Denison Hall pairing to an 8 point win and when they won a scrappy second frame by 15 points they had a 23 point advantage going into the third and final frame.

With the pressure now on to claw back the deficit, Daniel Boyes crafted a 39 break early in the last frame and with 4 reds left the scores were level on aggregate.

By the time they got to the colours Boyes/Tollerfield had amassed a 27 point lead and when Daniel Boyes potted Yellow and Green the match was effectively over.
