There has been a typing error in the message posted on the 12th September in my notes that were read out at the AGM it was stated that results had to be in by Friday 6pm following the weekly fixtures. The correct day is Saturday at 6pm, this was a typing error which was read out and has only just come to light.

New handicaps come into force Monday 9th October.
It has brought to the committees attention that 'players' are trying to manipulate the Foul and Miss rule. Can I remind ALL players that a genuine attempt to escape from a snooker must be applied whether it be 1st or 3rd attempt. Players simply rolling towards the cushion on the last attempt or making absolutely no attempt will be reported and could face a lengthy ban. This is supposed to be played in a gentlemanly manner and we wont tolerate for instances we have seen reported within the first couple of weeks. Thanks LBSO Committee

26 Sep 2023**2023-24 LBSO LEAGUE & COMPETITION RULES**As approved at the AGM on the 11th September, the up to date LBSO rules book can now be found in the "Documents" section of the website - via the "About Us" tab above.
The most notable additions are the rules concerning snooker balls and the 'foul & a miss rule'.
1. SNOOKER BALLS - VOTED 39 FOR / 10 AGAINST.
After been given the opportunity to amend / trim down the wording, which neither the proposers or any delegates took advantage of, the wording is exactly - more or less - as it appeared on the agenda for the AGM.
THE MAIN IDEA OF THE PROPOSERS HERE IS TO BETTER INFORM & EDUCATE RATHER THAN ENFORCE!
2. WPBSA - FOUL & A MISS RULE ADAPTATION - Despite two challenges which both failed - one by 17 votes and the second by 23 votes - the adaptation approved at last years AGM, was affirmed again by a practically 2 to 1 majority and therefore continues this season as well.
FOR THE FIRST TIME, THE WPBSA ADAPTATION OF THE 'FOUL & MISS' RULE IS INCLUDED IN THE LBSO RULE BOOK AT NEW SECTION 4.
As a reminder, the affirmed adaptation approved again at this years AGM is as follows-
• If your opponent puts you in a snooker, no matter how hard or how easy it is, you have a maximum of 3 attempts to get out of the snooker,
• after the 3rd attempt, your opponent can either play from where the white ball finishes,
• or your opponent can ask you to play from where the white ball finishes,
UNLESS
• EITHER PLAYER already needs snookers, or does so in the event of the 1st or 2nd attempt.
Clarification and advice is also provided regarding a number of situations which could arise, such as-
>where snookers are required, this applies to the score of EITHER player (NOT just the striker),
>>the scoreboard points difference applies BOTH BEFORE, OR AFTER the shot has been played by EITHER player,
>>>EVERY TIME the '3 attempt sequence' ONLY applies where the CUE BALL is REPLACED & played from the "ORIGINAL POSITION" & NOT "THE POSITION LEFT". Played from the "POSITION LEFT", the '3 attempt sequence' STARTS AGAIN, which includes where a DIFFERENT snooker is laid to the original one.
>>>>players TOUCHING ANY BALL, when assisting to replace balls, COULD incur a 7 POINT PENALTY, &
>>>>>the OTHER 2 ASPECTS OF THE FULL RULE when NOT SNOOKERED - so where 1) any part of any ball on or 2) centre ball of any ball on can be seen - REMAIN COMPULSORY.
