24 Apr 2024**Rowland Road edge past Farsley in Windsor Final**

Rowland Road defeated Farsley Cons 5-3 in tonight's Windsor Trophy final.
Farsley's Karl Green had the rub of the green to beat Dave Millward, but on the other table Rowland Road's Carl Moore took both frames off Paul Saynor to leave it 2-2 at the halfway stage.
Tom Oates and John Mullen then both won their first frames to put Rowland Road in the driving seat at 4-2.
Back came Farsley and a 38 break from Andrew Heseltine made it 4-3. When Jack Firth had a 30 break to open up a 40 point lead in his second frame it looked like the match was going to a decider. John Mullen had other ideas and a string of fine pots put him back in the lead. A thin cut blue put him 16 in front on the pink and it looked like the match was won, but on his next shot he somehow contrived to go in off the pink and when Jack Firth potted the pink it looked nailed on to go 4-4. With the pressure on Firth rattled the black in the jaws and a relieved Mullen stepped up to pot the black and seal the match for Rowland Road.
Many thanks to Brian Chambers and Adel Memorial Club for hosting the match and to Andy Kitson for officiating.

15 Apr 2024**Gildersome's Daniel Boyes is 2024 English U18 Snooker Champion**

Sixteen year old Daniel Boyes emerged victorious in yesterdays EPSB English Under 18 Championship in Northampton. Unbeaten in the group stages Daniel went on to win four knockout matches including one against fellow LBSO player James Pears in the quarter final.
The event is one of the most prestigious junior events in the snooker calendar having previously been won by the likes of Judd Trump, Gary Wilson and Tom Ford and Daniel follows ex LBSO players Stan Moody and Liam Pullen in taking the title.

Meanwhile at the weekend at the Landywood Club in Walsall an LBSO team led by Mark Ball and consisting of Richard Binns, Mal Bilclough, Lewis Harper and Chris Hart qualified for the final stages of the EPSB English Snooker Leagues Championship.
All in all not a bad weekend for the LBSO!
