New handicaps come into force today.

The LBSO committee would like to wish all players and their families and everyone involved with the LBSO a very happy and prosperous new year.

The season restarts this Wednesday/Thursday after the festive break.

Please ensure all fixtures are played on the stated date and that all players play off their correct handicaps.

Finally make sure results are in by the Saturday deadline of 6pm.

Good luck to all teams for the remainder of the season.

A field of 46 players participated in today's LBSO sponsored "Coppafeel" cancer charity competition.
The top half of the draw saw English under14 champion Stanley Moody show glimpses of his undoubted potential with a break of 91 in winning his 1st round match and followed this with a run of 108 in his next match despite losing 2-1 to Crossgates Rec player Karl Briggs.
Karl himself then lost out to Danny Dean in the semi-final, Dean having played consistently well throughout the day to come through a tough section of the draw.
In the lower half it was ex professional Lam who dominated, breaks of 108 and the days high of 122 helping him to reach the final.

In the final Dean was unable to maintain the quality he had shown throughout the day and it was Lam who finally emerged as the 2-1 winner.

The Plate final was an all Beechwood affair with Dave Scarlett edging out clubmate Billy Savage.

The days events raised a magnificent £316 for the "Coppafeel" charity.

Thanks to all who participated, with special thanks to Malcolm Timblin for his additional personal donation and to Ben Smith who donated his £10 break prize to the cause.
