The rules with regards to AGM's, you will find on page 13 of the up to date version, which includes the rules about changes to the LBSO rules.
RULE CHANGES - Section 3 - 5:

Section 3 - 5(b) "any proposed changes to any LBSO league & competition rules, shall be sent in writing or by email to the General Secretary, but no later than 14 days prior to the AGM."
THEREFORE-
1) NO PROPOSED RULE CHANGES WILL ACCEPTED AFTER 26th AUGUST.
2) ANY PROPOSALS RECEIVED AFTER THIS DATE WILL NOT APPEAR ON THE AGENDA.
3) ONLY THE PROPOSED RULE CHANGES WHICH APPEAR ON THE AGENDA WILL BE DISCUSSED AT THE ACTUAL AGM.
ANY REGISTERED LBSO PLAYER, may submit any proposed rule changes, AS FROM NOW (until 26th August).
IMPORTANT-
In addition, ANY PLAYER proposing ANY rule changes (applies to new rules or amendments to existing rules)-
> needs SPECIFIC wording as clear & as precise as possible.
>> so as to be ENFORCEABLE WITHOUT officials being present where LEAGUE or COMPETITION MATCHES are involved.
>>> giving reasons for the changes which are either personal or via a third party.
>>>> also giving reasons why the changes will benefit the LBSO as a whole, and not just the club of the proposer. &
>>>>> detailing any penalties - where appropriate - in the case of non-compliance with the new rule or as amended.
ALL DETAILS ABOUT RULE CHANGES will then be copied onto the official agenda for the AGM - which will be posted in its complete format on the website and circulated no later than 2nd September, again in accordance with the current AGM rules at page 13 of the attached document.
Finally, the rule proposer will then PERSONALLY PRESENT their proposed changes to those present at the AGM.
Any proposed rule changes will then be either accepted or rejected at the AGM by a vote, but ONLY by those PRESENT at the AGM.
Further details of the 2024 AGM will be posted on the website and circulated in this manner in due course.
A list of all prize winners for the presentation on this coming Wednesday, is now attached to the website - click on tab "About Us / Documents".
The 6 snooker leagues reward the winners and runner-up only, whereas the MAJORITY of the LBSO competitions offer prizes for the semi-finalists as well.
MANY OF THE PRIZES WINNERS HAVE ASKED FOR CASH, WHICH ARE NOW CONSIDERABLE SUMS OF MONEY.
THEREFORE COULD I DRAW YOUR ATTENTION TO THE CURRENT LBSO RULE ON THE SUBJECT OF CASH PRIZES WHICH READS AS FOLLOWS-
"Any cash prizes which are NOT claimed-:
• either before, on, or after the presentation night,
• but only up to the AGM,
will be forfeited and returned to the LBSO finances, to be accounted for on the balance sheet of the following season."
The current rule is NOT a 'money making exercise' at all, in fact it was agreed by delegates at the AGM in 2011, 13 years ago now.
During this time, fortunately the rule has only been enforced on a few occasions, although these few occasions seem to have been in more recent times.
THEREFORE, CAN YOU PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CASH PRIZE IS COLLECTED, IF NOT BY THOSE SHOWN ON THE PRIZE WINNERS SHEET, THEN BY SOMEBODY ELSE, EITHER AT THE ACTUAL PRESENTATION, OR AT THE AGM ON THE 9th SEPTEMBER THIS YEAR.
At the AGM, any uncollected cash prizes will be taken to the meeting, but as this is NOT an AGM agenda item, NO discussion will take place on the subject.
RELUCTANTLY, ANY CASH PRIZE STILL NOT COLLECTED AFTER THE AGM, WILL GO BACK INTO THE LBSO FINANCES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CURRENT LBSO RULE QUOTED ABOVE.
The LBSO presentation evening for the 2023/24 season will be held at South Leeds Conservative Club on Wednesday 17th July, which will also incorporate a 'Race Night'
Doors open from 7pm...
Richard Binns (Belle Isle) claimed the Leeds City Championship Singles title last night in a thrilling encounter against Malcolm Bilclough (Horsforth Cons)
The season finale and a new name of the trophy beckoned, as neither player had previously won this title..
It was a flying start for Bilclough, quickly in the balls and he looked like he would take the first frame with a 40+ lead with Binns still yet to pot a ball. Back came the Belle Isle maestro with a superb 48 break to take the frame away from Bilclough to lead 1 – 0 (80 – 56)
Second frame was one traffic for Bilclough, again in the balls early in the frame and with a series of mini breaks either side of a 35 break, the frame was done and dusted 1 – 1 (3 – 71)
Third frame and once again, Bilclough dominant early stages and then some passages of potting from both players, Bilclough then fired a quick fire 37 break to take the frame and lead 2 – 1 going into the interval (34 – 58)
Forth frame resumed following the interval and this frame proved a pivotal moment with how the match turned. Again, Bilclough dominated, opening with a 40 break, but a couple of loose shots allowed Binns to get his arm going again and with a series of mini breaks he was back in the frame. Another loose shot from Bilclough allowed Binns the opportunity to close the deficit and when he potted the last red and black, all colours were on their spots to clear to the table. However, a poor positional shot from blue to pink spurred the chance. Frame not over, with pink and black still needed it was nervous snooker. A good pot on the pink from Binns meant a crucial black ball game which was massive in how the match would go… A series of good safety shots from both players and when Bilclough thought he had left the black safe on the cushion near the corner pocket, Binns produced the thinnest of clips that I don’t think Vidal Sassoon would have clipped to level the match 2 – 2 (66-57)
Fifth frame was an edgy frame, both players breaking down when in the balls, more so when Bilclough had a crucial kick just as you thought a sizeable break was beckoning. However, onto the colours and again Binns capitalised on a couple of errors and when he had the chance just needing blue and pink, he calmly stepped up and took the frame to now lead 3 – 2 (64 – 51)
Sixth and what would be the last frame of the evening… Binns dominant throughout, quickly acquiring a 40+ lead in the early stages and when presented with another chance a further 21 points were added, which eventually proved too much for Bilclough and hands were shaken.
Congratulations to Richard Binns on winning this title for the first time…
Thanks to NSC for hosting the final and all the finals this season.
Thanks also to Michael Davenport for officiating so professionally.
The final of the Leeds City Championship Singles match between Richard Binns (Belle Isle WMC) v Malcolm Bilclough (Horsforth Cons) will take place tonight at NSC

All support for the evening will be welcomed including all prize winners.
Farsley Cons, Ian Longbottom overcome a resilient Dave French (Cross Gates Rec) last night to win the league’s oldest and most popular competition, the coveted Sykes Cup!
Receiving a healthy 31 start a frame Longbottom struggled to get to grips with the arena table at NSC as too did French, with the first frame a 55 minute, nervous and scrappy affair. It looked Longbottom would comfortably take the first frame, but when French cleared the colours to leave a tricky black to looked like it would be going in favour of the Cross Gates player. However, a missed black and couple of safety battles later, up stepped Longbottom to pot a full length black to take the first frame 75 – 62.
The next frame Longbottom looked like he settled the better of the two players, and with more missed attempts from French, it was Longbottom in the ascendance with a cleverly crafted 22 break which ultimately took the frame away from French to lead 2 -0 (87 – 55)
So, onto the third frame and again was dominated by Longbottom, stroking some excellent pots in on a very difficult playing surface. French tried in vain as he required snookers in the latter stage of the frame, but it was Longbottom to see out the frame, albeit with some jittery shots to claim victory! 3-0 (100 - 55)
Congratulations to Ian Longbottom who has overcome some very tough opponents to win this special trophy…
Thanks for NSC for hosting and to Mark Ball, once again officiating to supreme high standards!
Denison Hall's Jimmy Doherty (44) defeated Edmund House's Shaun Dewendy(7) 279-224 to win the Stan Brooke singles final at the NSC last night.
As is often the case, the first frame was dominated by the foul and a miss rule, with both players struggling to get out of some difficult snookers, and when Doherty potted the final black he had lost the frame by just one point 101-102.
The second frame was a bit more free flowing, a 23 break by Dewendy helping him take the lead and he was 8 in front on the blue before Doherty stepped up to clear the last three colours and take the frame 89-79.
So going into the last frame Dewendy was 9 behind on aggregate. He needed a good start to the frame but Doherty kept things tight and try as he might Dewendy couldn't get back on level terms. With 2 reds left Doherty was 46 in front plus the additional buffer of the 9 points overall and the match was effectively won, Dewendy eventually conceding the match with the colours remaining.
The match was played in great spirit in front of a healthy crowd.
Thanks as always to our sponsors and hosts the NSC.
Moor Allerton overcame a buoyant effort from Gildersome to claim the 3-man KO trophy on Wednesday evening…
The Moor Allerton trio of Rider (16) Sur (14) and Singh (7) were up against Kitchen (1), Boyes (-9) and Boyes Jnr (-22) and it was Moor Allerton in the ascendance in the first two frames.
Rider receiving a 15-start battled throughout the frame and when he edged it on a nervy black it was 1-0. On the other table, Sur was receiving a health 23 start and the game looked like it was in the balance when Boyes was on 24 but a simple missed pink allowed Sur to capitalise with a 24 break of his own which took the frame away from Boyes to lead 2-0.
The No1’s now started their matches and again a Singh getting health 29 start who was also the best dressed player on the evening. Again, nip and tuck in the early stages and when Boyes Jnr compiled a 32 break it was game on going onto the colours. It wasn’t to be for the Gildersome Jnr and when Singh potted the necessary colours, Boyes Jnr needed snookers. 3-0.
Rider and Kitchen had already started their 2nd frame, which Rider needed to win to claim the trophy. Again, some edgy passages of play brought the players onto the colours, and it looked like Kitchen was going to bring a frame back with just pink and black needed, however an unexpected miss on the pink brought a sigh of relief to the Moor Allerton player. Kitchen had another missed opportunity and when Rider potted a good pink, he potted an even better black to claim the frame and a 4-0 victory.
Thanks to South Leeds Conservatives for hosting the final and to Michael Davenport and Mark Ball for officiating to such high standards.
The Veterans competition seems to grow in popularity each year and this year a record 36 entries battled it out at the NSC for the title of "Golden Oldie".
In the top half of the draw Garforth WMC's David Horry (27) won 5 matches to reach the final. In the bottom half it was Robert Kennally (38) who prevailed winning several close matches along the way.
The final itself was a high scoring affair, the "foul and a miss" rule coming to the fore with both players giving away several penalty points. When Kennally potted the blue, Horry needed a snooker and when Horry inadvertently potted the pink it was all over. The frame score was an impressive 107-97!
High break in the main competition was a 35 by Ian Sharp in the first round.
The plate competition was won by Gildersome's Dave Boyes who beat Morley's Paul Grimes in the final. Boyes had the days high break of 58 in the semi-final.
Many thanks to our sponsors the Northern Snooker Centre and to Peter Connell who kindly refereed the final.
The 2 Singles Handicap competition finals will be played next week at the NSC. Both 7:30 start.
On Monday 10th its the Stan Brooke Singles final between
